Knotted Line Classes

Your Instructor will be Dennis Armstrong, owner of The Knotted Line. “My knotted items are made in keeping with the methods used by the old time sailors as part of the tradition of the sailor.”

Wrapping/ Hitching Class

Dennis, owner of the Knotted Line will be teaching the Hitching class. Hitching is a fancy ropework mainstay. Wrap your tiller, a steering wheel or even your favorite coffee cup handle using the Moku Hitch, Spiral French Hitch or perhaps a Saint Mary’s Hitch. Bring an object or two that you would like to wrap in a classic marlinspike seamanship manner.

Turk’s Head Class

Dennis, the owner of the Knotted Line will show class participants how to fashion a Turk's Head knot. Sometimes called a Sailors Knot, the Turk's Head, is typically wrapped around a cylindrical shape but can be made into a flat mat or even a spherical shape like a Monkey's Fist. Bring an object to wrap or make a Monkey's Fist to take home.
