![]() This conceptual drawing by John McMillan was used during the early part of the Save Eddon Boatyard Campaign to show what the Eddon Park and Eddon Boatyard might look like. The campaign was a success and over 62% of the city residents voted to fund the bond that allowed the City to purchase the property.

![]() Pictured here is Thunderbird #1 with Ed Hoppen at the helm. In 1958, the first T-bird was constructed at the Eddon Boatyard. The steamlined shape and do-it-yourself plywood boat inspired a national following. Today, there are more than 1,250 T-birds around the world. Among the first projects GHB will undertake will be the layout and construction of a T-bird. This programming opportunity will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the very first T-bird.
