Preserve, Interpret and Perpetuate Gig Harbor's Historic Working Waterfront

Welcome to the Boatbuilder for a Day Photo Gallery! Here we will display the process of building a classic rowboat, a 15' 8" Lake George boat.

We started February 11, 2012, ready to begin lofting the boat. We had obtained the plans from the Adirondack Museum in New York, where this boat is a native. It is similar in style and utility to boats in this area, and met our requirements of being an interesting hull shape with sufficient interior details to be a beautiful boat, yet within the scope of novice builders.

We had set the stage for the project by building a ladder frame that would first serve as a table for the lofting and then the frame for the station molds. Let's see the progress...
